Positive New Year’s resolutions for 2019

Many of us will have given some thought to our 2019 New Year’s Resolutions already, or at least have it on the ‘to do’ list for the new year.

The start of a whole new year really is a time to make some hopeful plans for the year ahead – be that eating healthier to exercising more. Such plans can be difficult to achieve, sometimes (inevitably!!) leading us to feeling like ‘failures’ just a few weeks into January.

More and more though, people are being urged to try and only make positive and most significantly achievable resolutions for 2019. Forget feeling a failure as you start your year – aim for something that you can definitely ‘tick off’ and feel great about doing so.

A suggestion we particular like at CBH is making all of your ‘medical/self-care’ appointments now at the start of the year! So, things like getting that cervical smear test booked in right now to reduce the risk of forgetting. Mark on your calendar or set up reminders now to do a thorough check of your breasts for lumps or any other body checks you think you should be doing…It takes the stress out of remembering.

You could also consider getting some chiropractic follow up appointments booked in now for the months ahead. Our patients sometimes only think to come and see us if they are experiencing pain – and yet chiropractic can be really beneficial if regular ‘maintenance’ appointments are booked in.  Chiropractors are trained to diagnose, treat, manage and prevent disorders of the musculoskeletal system (bones, joints, and muscles).  Spinal joint dysfunction can interfere with the nervous system, which controls and regulates every single cell in your body. So, any interference can have a negative effect on health or performance.

The only way to know how potentially good regular appointments could perhaps make you feel is to try it for yourself – so why not give it a go? We offer price plans of 6 and 12 sessions. You can get all of the appointments booked in and you’ll be sent reminders prior to the appointments so for now you can just sit back and give yourself a big ‘tick’ for scheduling in some self-care for 2019!

Feel free to chat to Polly, Nicole or Lauren about booking in some ‘maintenance’ follow up appointments if you’re not sure how regular you should make them or you’d just like to find out more.

Whatever your New Year’s resolutions are this year we hope they are focused on being kind to yourself and looking after you!!

Happy New Year all.
